Our Story

Located in Gibsons on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast, just a 40-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver, Molly's Reach has been a beloved landmark and tourist attraction for decades, drawing fans of The Beachcombers from around the world.

Originally built in 1926, the property was leased by the CBC in 1969 and became the backdrop for countless scenes from the iconic series, which ran from 1972 to 1990. After the show ended, the building remained vacant for several years before being transformed into a working restaurant in 1995.

In December 2024, the Black Bean Cafe—a longtime local favorite—took over the Molly's name, embarking on a new chapter that blends history with a fresh, welcoming spirit.
